The 2020 Honda CR-V wins the efficiency race
Each CR-V features a turbocharged 1.5L four-cylinder engine that is more efficient than any of the 2.5L gas-powered RAV4 trims. Driving around the city, the CR-V AWD trims achieve a fuel economy of 8.7 L/100 km, which bests RAV4 AWD trims at 9.2 L/100 km. The CR-V FWD trim also surpasses its RAV4 AWD counterpart in the city with a fuel economy at 8.3 L/100 km, which is a .5 litre per 100 km fuel savings.
The CR-V also features mechanical elements that you won’t find on the RAV4, like a capless fueling system, electronic parking brake and MacPherson struts.
The 2020 Honda CR-V features more comfort and volume
The CR-V has significantly more room than the RAV4, ranging from valuable cargo volume to more space for individual occupants throughout each vehicle. The CR-V features 2,146 litres of total cargo volume behind the front seats, whereas the RAV4 is limited at 1,977 litres in the same configuration. This makes a sizeable difference during long trips or whenever you need maximum utility.
The CR-V also features more front head, leg and shoulder room than its competitor. The lower (but not too low) ground clearance makes it easy to get in and out of the CR-V, too. Overall, the utility and convenience of the CR-V makes it a satisfying vehicle for everyday driving.
The interior of the CR-V includes standard features perfect for Canadian drivers. Heated front seats moderate your temperature during winter driving. They are not standard anywhere in the RAV4 lineup. You can also sink into the driver’s memory seat in three CR-V trims, while it’s only an option in the RAV4. More CR-V models are also equipped with standard leather seat surfaces, heated rear seats, and more power seat adjustment options.
