2021 Honda Odyssey Receives Top Safety Pick Plus Award from IIHS

The new Honda Odyssey 2021 was recently redesigned and wasted no time in being praised for its safety by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The IIHS is responsible for evaluating the safety of vehicles for sale in North America and has given the Odyssey its highest rating for occupant protection.

The 2021 Honda Odyssey is the first minivan to receive the IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus award this year. The Odyssey is the seventh model to receive the Top Safety Pick and above award.

Offered standard with the Honda Sensing suite, the Odyssey offers cutting-edge safety technologies including adaptive cruise control, automatic braking with pedestrian detection, collision mitigation and lane departure mitigation, and the lane departure prevention system. All are offered at no extra cost. The 2021 Honda Odyssey also benefits from the ACE body structure which aims to protect occupants following a collision if Honda Sensing technologies fail to prevent the accident.

To earn the Best Safety Pick + rating, a vehicle must achieve the highest score in six crash tests including the front moderate overlap crash test.

The 2021 Honda Odyssey also received a 5-star safety rating from NCAP, another organization that assesses the safety of new vehicles.
