Honda HR-V 2022 presented in Japan

Honda has already confirmed that a new generation of the popular 2021 Honda HR-V is in the works, but it's unclear what exactly that new generation has in store. While we don't officially know the styling of the next HR-V yet, we get a good idea with the unveiling of the new Honda Vezel last week in Japan.

For those who don't know, the Honda Vezel is essentially the Japanese version of the HR-V. If we look at the current Vezel, it looks a lot like the Honda HR-V we have here. So, it's reasonable to see that the Honda Vezel 2022 is a very good preview of what the next generation of the HR-V will offer in North America.

The Japanese Vezel will notably offer a hybrid engine that combines a turbo four-cylinder with an electric motor. Together, the two engines transmit power to all four wheels. The Vezel also offers a new 9-inch center screen as well as Magic Seats in the back for improved versatility.

In short, the 2022 Honda HR-V should draw much inspiration from the changes made to the Vezel. The North American version is expected to arrive sometime in 2021 and we should find out more about what it will offer in the coming months.
